Christmas Kiwi Style

Merry Christmas Everyone!

This was not my first Xmas down under, I was lucky enough to spend the Xmas of 2010 here a few years back. However for Nay, Jed and Annah a whole new experience was about to unravel.

It goes without saying that you’ll never get a white Xmas down here…but you will get turkey dinners, Michael BublĂ©, silly hats and moustaches…

Xmas eve began with the customary last dash present grab in town which was packed, and after a hard days shopping and bit of football on the lawn into the hot tub for the first time since mum and dad moved in 6 days ago.

Christmas morning begins with a fry up – all the usual. Sausages, Eggs, Bacon, Beans etc. If your going to have one day a year where you want to fill yourself to bursting then you might as well start as you mean to go on!!

For lunch here Mum and Dad get together with 2 other groups of close family friends for a 20 person round table food feast.

And then its down to business, or more accurately, DOWN TO THE BEACH!

Tag rugby, Kayaks, Snorkels the whole works – including some awesome sea gymnastics, crowned by Jack who was the first to launch and must have cleared 10 ft in the air – A few of the video best bits:

Back home in the evening to wind down, apply some aftersun and for Nay and I a chance to pack our bags for 8 weeks in Australia. Boxing day will be spent with more family in Christchurch, then next stop = Sydney to bring in 2013 and all the adventures that will bring!
